Expect a Comfortable Restoration
Root canals are the area of Dr. John Birch. John is very, very good at that and he loves doing it. When a patient comes in, in pain, basically a root canal is taking the nerve out of the tooth, which has become infected, usually through decay. And at the initial appointment, Dr. Birch is then able to get the area numb, to be able to take the infected tissue out. Clean the canal and dress it with a medicament that, after the anesthesia wears off the patient is relatively comfortable. Obviously, we add antibiotics and medication to control postoperative discomfort to this.
But Dr. Birch is very, very good at what he does, as far as doing the root canals on the patients. And a root canal is a procedure that allows the patient to keep the teeth. The nice thing about having teeth, you can always decide to take them out. Once the teeth are gone, your options of replacing them are quite limited, and often can be quite expensive too. So keeping the tooth and being able to maintain it is going to decrease your overall dental costs throughout your life.
