We’re Here When You Need Us
Once the patient who has decided to come to the office has the dental emergency, my wonderful clinical staff will set up the rooms and my clerical staff upfront, administrative staff, will set up the appointment and bring the patient in. We will endeavor to see that patient as soon as possible, because being in pain is not an enjoyable thing. And dental pain is worse than say, if you hit your thumb. At least if you hit your thumb, you could hold it out here. But your dental pain is at the center of your very being.
So with patients that have emergency appointments, we strive to get them in as soon as possible, to get them treated, get them out of pain. We’re fortunate to have Dr. John Birch with us. Dr. Birch is exceptionally good in the area of treating dental emergencies.
Many times we will have them come in and we can start treatment that very day. However, there are instances when the infection, or the fracture of the tooth, may be so much that treatment at that time, because of the infection, warrants the administration of medications and a given time period, say 24 to 48 hours, to have them return so we can adequately treat the patient without creating tremendous amount of discomfort.
